About Our Chapter
Who we are
We are a group of dedicated volunteers fueled by the passion we have for fish and the waters they call home.
While we work hard to preserve the resources we love, we don't shy away from taking time to enjoy each other and time outdoors.
If we sound like a group you would like to learn more about, please reach out and we promise to get back to you.
What we do
Aside from meeting each month to discuss chapter business and show off fish pictures, we often band together to take on projects we feel will have a lasting impact.
An ongoing tradition of our chapter is hosting an annual banquet to raise funds for various conservation projects. Among others, we have recently made financial contributions to:
-
Winneshiek County Conservation to assist in purchasing a 17 acre parcel known as Sindelar Wildlife Access, which expanded the public fishing access opportunities in the Iowa Driftless region.
In addition to our efforts of raising financial resources, we also enjoy being "hands on". A few of these projects include:
-
Planting trees along the banks of the North Fork after record flooding devastated much of the area
-
Events at Bethal Lake during the winter catch and release season
-
Annual Stream monitoring at Little Piney
